There is a wide variety of beaches in the area, on Lake Villarrica in the road from Pucon Villarrica in Pucon big beach, and also on Lake Caburga, with excellent alternatives. The volcanic sand, very cold water and beautiful landscapes are the denominator common to these beaches.

Playa Grande of Pucon:

Black and coarse volcanic sand. It is the main beach in Pucon and is located next to the city. It has a paved walkway along the coast.

The shore gradually becomes deeper as the swimmer goes into the waters of Villarrica Lake. The place apt to swim is outlined with buoys under the keen sight of the bay watchers. There is the greatest beach activity, music of the moment, paddle boats, kayaks and promoters from different companies distributing the products of the season.

Considering the length of the beach (2.5 miles or 4 km) further away, there are other more peaceful and relaxed places for the family, with wide spaces to comfortably put a towel, shade umbrella or portable chairs.

Playa Linda:

This beach is located between Pucon and Villarrica. It has parking facilities and can be reached by interurban minibus.

Its sand is fine and the shore is very safe for inexperienced swimmers, because it is shallow. This sector has many summer houses and cabins with direct access to the beach.

A tour on boat along the coast allows seeing summer houses, which can be modest cabins to the most original architecture dedicated to relaxing and contemplating the lake.

Playa Negra (Black Beach) of the Caburga Lake.

This beach is 12 miles (19 km) from Pucon (there is collective transport each half hour in the summer season. The frequency is lower during the winter) has more of a family environment and is never too full. Its sand is fine and the shore is very safe for small children. In some parts the bottom is somewhat muddy especially when the level is low because of the lack of rain. (Which isn't the case for 2007.)

Next to the beach there are all sorts of offers for water sports such as kayaks, rafts, boats, and even small catamarans that in their tours give another angle of the beach and at very affordable prices.

Playa Blanca (White Beach) of the Caburga Lake.

Bordering with the black beach, in a soft walk along the shore, oneyou can arrive to this paradise-like white beach. (Adventurous and informal access) It is a small beach compared with the Pucon beach and therefore is very family-friendly. It is characterized for its fine white sand.

It is only possible to reach by car and the only cost is parking, which is uncommon especially near the beach (2 to 4 thousand pesos).Practically along the whole of it there are trees, and even a small forest of myrtle that gives shade and cool to those not very fond of the sun. The water is very clear and from any sail boat it is possible to clearly see the underwater world.
